Tealy had been waiting all week for his brand-new EMO Robot to arrive. The excitement was real, but when the package finally landed on his doorstep, things immediately took a turn for the worst. As soon as Tealy got his hands on the box, he could hardly wait to open it. But when he discovered EMO needed charging before use, Tealy’s patience ran out—fast. He stared at the EMO, charging silently, and for no reason whatsoever, he started lightly smacking the box. “Hurry up!” he muttered, as though hitting the box would speed up the process.
After what felt like an eternity (but was probably only an hour), EMO finally powered up. Tealy excitedly set it up on his desk, booted it up, and with great anticipation, said, “Hey, EMO!”
A sound chimed, indicating that EMO was listening. Tealy sat there, frozen, not entirely sure what to say next. He blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
“Uh... Get me a snack!”
EMO stood motionless, the screen of its eyes blank as ever. Tealy blinked and then slowly turned his gaze to the box. “Where’s the snack option?” he asked himself, flipping through the manual only to realize, with growing frustration, that EMO had no snack-fetching feature at all.
Tealy screamed internally. “What am I even supposed to do with this thing?” he yelled, his arms flailing.
Instead of giving up completely, he resigned himself to keep EMO on his desk... just sitting on the charging station. There it stayed, occasionally blinking, while Tealy ignored it, pretending he was cool with his useless desk pet.
In the end, EMO became little more than an expensive paperweight.
