Tealy made a party for absolutely nothing, thinking it would be a hilarious idea to gather his friends for a day of fun and laughter. He invited everyone, but in typical Tealy fashion, he got lazy when it came to planning. He didn’t bother with decorations or a theme—just some plain balloons he found at the bottom of his closet. The most exciting part of the setup was a sad, half-deflated “Happy Nothing Day” banner that hung crookedly above the snack table.
The day of the party arrived, and the turnout was dismal. Only DumbDird and Dird showed up, leaving Tealy feeling more alone than ever. Tealy had rented a roller skating rink, thinking it would be a blast. Unfortunately, none of them knew how to roller skate, and no one even attempted to learn. They stood awkwardly at the rink's edge, occasionally staring at the rink.
“Let’s just eat instead,” Dird suggested, trying to salvage the mood. They dug into a pizza that Tealy had ordered, which turned out to be as awful as the rest of the party. The cheese was rubbery, and the toppings were questionable at best. Tealy took one bite and immediately regretted it. After a few chews, he had to excuse himself and sprinted to the restroom just in time to throw up the awful pizza.
When he returned, Dird had already started to leave, claiming he had a "very important appointment" that he absolutely couldn’t miss. Tealy felt a pang of sadness but brushed it off, thinking it was no big deal. As he turned around, DumbDird was still attempting to skate, but it was clear he had no idea what he was doing. After a few shaky attempts, he fell hard, landing right on his backside.
“Ow! That’s gonna leave a mark!” DumbDird laughed, but Tealy could see the pain in his eyes. After a few minutes, DumbDird decided he was done for the day and hobbled off, leaving Tealy alone in the rink.
With just a few minutes left in the party, Tealy thought about how this was the worst idea ever. He couldn’t believe he had gone through all this trouble for a party that had devolved into chaos. Feeling defeated, Tealy turned to grab another slice of pizza for one last hurrah, but as he did, he tripped over his own feet and fell flat on the rink floor.
With the taste of the terrible pizza still in his mouth, Tealy tried to get up, but as he pushed himself off the ground, he felt queasy once again. Without any warning, he hurled right at the edge of the rink, the pizza he had barely eaten splattering across the floor.
The noise echoed through the empty rink, and in that moment, he felt a strange mix of embarrassment and relief. Alone, with no one around to witness his humiliation, he was left to face the remnants of his disastrous party.
As he sat there, surrounded by the disaster of his own making, Tealy realized that sometimes the most memorable moments come from the most unexpected failures. He sighed, determined to do better next time and make an actual plan for whatever party he decided to throw.
