Tealy was thrilled with his latest invention, the Tealy Super Smart Fridge, thinking it would revolutionize the way people handled their groceries. This futuristic fridge was packed with high-tech features: it could detect spoiled food and automatically order replacements, had a touch screen for watching videos or browsing the web, and came with a built-in assistant known as SmartFridgeAssistant—basically a glorified AI like ChatGPT that could answer questions and make recommendations.
But the fridge had one other feature that Tealy thought would truly set it apart: Candy Bar Detection. If it detected a snack that wasn't one of Tealy’s SmartSnacks, it would destroy it on the spot.
Tealy was proud of his invention—too proud. He marketed it heavily, expecting it to dominate the kitchen tech market. But soon enough, the sales numbers came in, and they were… disastrous. People weren’t thrilled with a fridge that would destroy their favorite treats, especially if they enjoyed snacks from Tealy’s competitors like Dird Bars or Bayla's Bites.
One day, Blara came over to Tealy's house for a visit. She casually placed a Dird Bar—her favorite—into the fridge to save for later. Suddenly, alarms went off, and a robotic arm emerged from the fridge’s depths, snatching up the Dird Bar and incinerating it instantly.
“Tealy!” Blara shouted, outraged. “My Dird Bar!”
Tealy's eyes widened. "Wait—no, no! I didn’t mean for it to—"
But it was too late. The Dird Bar was gone, reduced to ashes, and Blara was not happy. Tealy sighed in defeat as he realized his "brilliant" fridge was not so brilliant after all.
"I thought it would help promote my brand!" Tealy muttered to himself.
Blara shook her head. "Well, you just destroyed my snack. Maybe you should rethink that feature."
Tealy had to admit, she was right.
