Tealy's Tomodachi Life Fiasco

Tealy was sitting in his tech-packed living room, scrolling through an online store on his latest tablet. His Xbox Series X hummed softly in the background, his Nintendo Switch docked neatly next to it. Tealy, always a modern gamer, wasn't even thinking about old consoles until a banner ad caught his eye: "Retro Fun: Nintendo 3DS – Tomodachi Life Pre-Installed!"

“Pfft, old school. Who needs that when I’ve got my Switch?” Tealy scoffed. But curiosity got the better of him. “Hmm, people still talk about Tomodachi Life. Could be fun to try... for science,” he muttered, justifying the impulse buy. Two days later, the shiny aqua-blue 3DS was delivered to his door.

Excited despite himself, Tealy booted it up, set up his Mii, and dove into Tomodachi Life. The game began with Tealy's Mii moving into the apartment building. After a brief tutorial, Tealy got to feed his Mii pancakes. “Oh, look at that! Tealy loves pancakes. Who doesn’t?” he said with a chuckle. Next, Tealy added his brother, Greeny, to the island. The two Miis hit it off immediately and became friends.

Things got hilarious when Tealy gave Greeny a pizza. Greeny’s Mii erupted into a spectacular animation of joy, shooting into space surrounded by stars and explosions. Tealy laughed so hard he nearly fell off his chair. “Of course pizza would be your super all-time favorite, Greeny!” he howled.

But then, the chaos began. A notification popped up: "Blara wants to talk to you." Intrigued, Tealy clicked it. Blara’s Mii appeared in her apartment, pacing nervously. “I have feelings for Tealy. I’ve got to tell him!” she said. Tealy’s eyes widened. “NO! Don’t do it!” he shouted, fumbling with the controls. Instead of selecting Don’t do it, his wing accidentally clicked OK.

“Oh no,” Tealy groaned as he watched Blara’s Mii head to the park. The game cut to a romantic scene of Blara standing next to Tealy’s Mii under a tree. “Will you be my sweetheart?” Blara asked sweetly.

But then, “Wait!” Another figure appeared—it was Bayla. “I love you too,” Bayla said dramatically.

Tealy burst out laughing. “Oh, this just keeps getting better!” he cackled. On screen, the two Miis began bickering. “I love you more!” Blara said. “Tealy, who do you choose?” Bayla asked, looking desperate.

To Tealy’s delight, his Mii made the ultimate decision: “I’m sorry, but none of you.”

Tealy laughed like crazy. Blara’s Mii was left sobbing, but Tealy didn’t care. “Sorry, Blara. Game logic rules!”

Later, Tealy noticed Dird’s Mii storming around angrily in his apartment. “What’s his problem?” Tealy wondered, selecting Dird. The game informed him: Dird and Beric had a fight. Rolling his eyes, Tealy decided to resolve it the easy way—with food. He gave Dird a burger, expecting the drama to resolve. Instead, Dird hated it. “Seriously, Dird? Who hates burgers?” Tealy exclaimed, closing the game in frustration.

Despite the chaos, Tealy couldn’t stop smiling. For a bird who usually stuck to cutting-edge tech, the quirky charm of the 3DS and Tomodachi Life had captured his heart. “Okay, old-school. You win this round,” he said, putting the 3DS on the table next to his Switch. “Now, who’s up for some more island chaos?”
